Developing a Superior Speed Reading Eye

Saturday, September 26th, 2009
Francis Hesse asked:

In this present-day era in which information is available in great quantity and at a very rapid rate (thanks to the Internet), there is also a burning need to be able to take in information in the shortest possible time. There is as a result a great demand for people who have a superior trained speed reading eye as this is a quality that helps in increasing productivity and so, is highly valued.

If you are on the lookout for some means to develop the speed at which you read, there are a number of solutions that can help to train you  in developing a better speed reading eye. There are in fact, numerous choices when it concerns diversity of speed reading courses as well as software that will help you read faster, and so it becomes essential that you choose one that will work to develop your proficiency in the most effective manner.

Retention and comprehension are essential.

When you develop a proficient speed reading eye you will then be able to use your newly acquired skills in many diverse ways and thus enjoy a more fruitful life. According to experts, there are just a small number of techniques that need to be learned to develop a good and sharp speed reading eye which will help you to enjoy the benefits of rapid reading and also comprehending and retaining the material that you have read.

Improving your reading speed will be of little use to you if you fail to absorb what it is you are reading.Learning to read at breakneck speeds without comprehension is not very useful, you must be able to understand what you have read and retain the information as well.

Also, one can always train to have a razor-sharp speed reading eye if one simply practices regularly as this is perhaps the most important facet to gaining the necessary speed at reading. In fact, though you can also practice by using your hand, or use cards to improve your speed reading eye, there is nothing quite as effective as constant practice in developing the art of speed reading.

It also pays to get some speed reading techniques because present day technology is so advanced that you can make dramatic improvements in speed reading by making this technology work for you. By improving your speed reading eye, you will be able to read faster as well as read better and by constantly practicing to even achieve your ultimate goal which should be to read at about hundred words per minute.

Improve your attitude to improve your speed reading

Friday, June 26th, 2009
Dan asked:

Like with a lot of things in life, speed reading can be greatly improved if you spend some time examining your thinking around the subject of reading and getting your thinking right so that you are able to get better results.

One of the important things to get sorted out in your thinking is your attitude towards reading and speed reading.

I have personally heard people saying in person and in books that you need to have a positive attitude, but they never really talked about what an attitude is and how to get a good one.

Well recently I found out what an attitude is made up of and so now I know how to make them more positive. An attitude can be described with the following equation:

Attitude = Belief x Value

So if an attitude is a beliefs multiplied by your values all you need to do is find out what beliefs you have about reading and speed reading and then find out what values you have about reading and speed reading and then if when you do this you discover you have negative beliefs or values simply change them to more positive beliefs and values and you will see a real change in your speed reading ability.

Doing this kind of inner game work is one of those things that you really need to do on a regular basis to get the full benefits from, but it is well worth investing the time into this exercise.

Another big piece that is important to work on in order to become a fast speed reader, is to boost your speed reading stamina, your speed reading stamina is the amount of time you are able to read at speed for with good comprehension and recall. Boosting your speed reading stamina will help you to train and recondition your brain to reading at faster speeds and so will allow you to get all of the benefits of speed reading faster.

I have collected together all of the important things that you will have to do in order to boost your speed reading stamina, all of this information has been arranged into a 7 part e-course that you can take. Speed Reading Eye: Learn to Have a Speed Reading Eye

Rin Otori asked:

ng>Absorb Enormous Amounts Of Information With Ease By Developing A Speed Reading Eye

What is a speed reading eye? By understanding how our eye works, we can begin to understand how we read and also how speed reading can be accomplished.  Contrary to what it may seem like,  a reader’s eye does not move smoothly over printed text.  If this was not the case, you would not be able to see anything.  The reason for this being that the eye can only see clearly, things that are held still.

As you are reading a line of text, your eye is actually constantly moving in a series of quick jumps and still intervals. You probably never noticed this because the jumps are so quick they take almost no time at all. However, each individual fixation can take up to half a second.

So the eye basically takes in small gulps of information at a time. In order to develop a speed reading eye, the goal is to gradually increase these short gulps into larger gulps.

The speed reading eye, concentrates it’s fixation point towards the middle of each line of print.  As the speed reading eye moves towards the next line or sentence it starts a couple words from the edge, rather than starting at the beginning,

With practice this becomes more comfortable and natural. The brain actually has a good idea of what is going to come next without having to fixate on each individual word.  The speed reading eye only needs to check with peripheral vision to make sure the words were as expected.

A great product that I used to train myself to read in this fashion, can be found at UltimateBrainPower.Net The system is very effective and yet so simple. It only took me only about ten minutes each day to learn. Did you know that we typically lose 95% of the information from books we just read in less than 48 hours? Well with the techniques you will learn here, you will be able to stimulate the other 98% of  the brain power that has never been used before.

Check Out UltimateBrainPower.Net for more information!.

Not only does it dramatically increase the speed of your reading, but you also retain all of that information in your permanent memory. Allowing you to effectively build up a ton of knowledge that will serve you for the rest of your life! Most programs that teach speed reading out there simply show people how to skim through pages quickly, ineffectively absorbing the information read.  Being able to read fast is one thing, but imagine the possibilities after you learn to train your brain to act like a computer and “upload” books into your long term memory!

If you truly want to learn how to speed read the proper way, I highly recommend you check out the website at their website. Once again, the website is called:

Motivation to improve your speed reading

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009
Dan asked:

Like with a lot of disciplines or skills in life, to get good at speed reading you will need to have a strong motivation to want to develop the skill.  Like with any other skill, you will get better at it the more you do it, and having some from of motivation will help you stick with it long enough to get good.

A big part of sticking with the process as you go though the learning curve and development process as you practice your speed reading skills is to have a reason or a motivating thing that will keep you going.

How to develop motivation to do anything is very simple, all you have to do is think of and come up with a list of those benefits and good things you will be able to be,  do or have as a result of being able to speed read well. Then when ever you feel yourself loosing motivation to carry on, just go back to your list of motivating things and that will help to re-motivate you to carry on and maintain and improve your speed reading skills.

Vision

Having a vision or an image of why you are developing your speed reading skill s is a great way to motivate you to carry on and improve your speed reading skills.

To do this simply draw pictures of what you will get as a result of being a good speed reader and colour them in so they are bright and colourful, and look at them daily so they become a daily reminder and a motivating focus as you practice.

Another big piece that is important to work on in order to become a fast speed reader, is to boost your speed reading stamina, your speed reading stamina is the amount of time you are able to read at speed for with good comprehension and recall. How to practice your speed reading

Saturday, January 17th, 2009
Dan asked:

To develop the skill of speed-reading or any other skill requires that you spend time regularly, daily is best, in the process of practicing the skill.

To practice the skill of speed reading dose not have to take up a lot of time out of your day. Infect its possible to spend only 15 mints a day practising  if you do this for 30 days or more you will really start to see results.

Obviously you can do more each day if you want, which will help you to improve your speed reading skills faster, but just doing 15 min a day is enough and a nice manageable amount that is easy to keep up.

If you actually do 15 min a day for 30 days in a row you will start to see some real improvements in your speed reading skills and abilities. For example you will start to see increases in speed at which you can read, you will also see an improvement in the amount you can recall from what you have read, and also you will experience increases in your comprehension of what you are reading at speed.

A good way to help motivate you and make you keep up your daily practice is to keep a record of what you do each day, for example what your  have read, how long you read for, what you learned, what new words you have learned etc.

Doing this will help to keep you focused on your practice and will be proof to yourself that you are improving and getting better and faster at reading, which will make you more inclined to want to carry on.

Another big piece that is important to work on in order to become a fast speed reader, is to boost your speed reading stamina, your speed reading stamina is the amount of time you are able to read at speed for with good comprehension and recall.
